Hi everybody, I’m going to start this blog by showing the project I spent the most time on, about 15 weeks from concept to final production. My goal was to create a universe that one has never seen before. I created a trailer to promote the game and make it appealing to the audience. In my research findings, I found that the game must be different and unique to stand out from competition.
The game is based on a Science-Fiction story called “Futur-X: Genesis” which tells the journey of a character born in an incomprehensible future starting from his birth, through to his adventures exploring different planets and dimensions. The idea was to adapte the story into an AAA game, so I made the pitch that would be presented to potential publishers, I ended up making a short trailer introducing the game.
Here is my process work:
Environment:
The environment used for the trailer is the equivalent of a third world country. A lot of small elements and props make the universe believable: vehicles, pipes, cables, panels and antennas.
Based on the Sci-fi genre, the concept is inspired by the next generation technologies and other sci-fi movies, comics and graphic novels.
Characters:
The style of the characters is between scifi and fantasy. Most of all coming from an incomprehensible futuristic age. They are different from humans but still recognisable as evolving the same roots.
The main characters (Sylvo and Drawee) seen in the trailer are part of an elite team of soldier fighting for peace in the galaxy.
Compositing:
The trailer was created using advanced compositing techniques. As many as 8 different passes were used.
This is the final look of the shots, watch the trailer below to see it in motion.
